N55 Upgraded turbo update

So we have figured out the N55 upgrade and have a CHRA in hand that we are going to use. I do not want to give too many details as there are a few others trying to play catch up, but it will be a Ball Bearing CHRA and support 500-525 HP. It will retain all the stock piping including, intake, charge piping, and downpipes, unless when we get our test car here we feel the intake or charge piping needs to be address, but from asking a few people, these seem up to the task of what we will be asking of them. Custom turbine and compressor wheels are on order and we should have a working prototype in a month or so. We plan to test it, get it tuned, and give you guys some numbers. Then we will start taking orders. We didn't forget about you guys..Click here to enlarge

Fantastic guys! Love hearing that we get to keep most original hardware, makes me feel that this wouldn't be breaking the bank that much

Awesome news. Also interested if this is crank or whp estimates? I'm hoping whp as crank would only be netting around a 40-50 hp increase it would seem.

WHP of course, this is what the turbo can support. Lets hope the tuning is there to take advantage of it. As far as the XI as long as they didn't change the turbo on the Xi then it will fit 100%.

Now it'll just be a question of engine durability. Cast crank and all.

Count me in as well. I would love to have around 450AWHP as a daily driver.

Eh, the rest of the driveline is the same as the n54 which has held up fine at this kind of power. Perhaps clutch at some point for manual transmission cars.

So tired of haters claiming a "cast crank" is an issue.

Do you know how much torque you need to snap a crank from power alone? Well over 1,000 ft/lbs... the only way you're snapping a crank is because of severe misfiring (putting uneven stress on the crank) or factory defect (imbalance). If you're tune is good and your car is healthy, no turbo upgrade available to us will be capable of damaging the crank on its own.
