Intercooler Appearance

All,

Curious to know what you guys are doing as your aftermarket (or OEM) intercooler are starting to show their age. I've had my Active Autowerke intercooler install for close to 4 years now and removed the mesh infront of it to accentuate the BMW aero front lip. Now the intercooler is pretty gnarley --- caked in dirt, chipped/flaking paint from rocks etc. What have you guys done to combat this issue? Rattle can? Powdercoating?

I'm getting ready to drop the intercooler to re-do the piping and drain the coolant in the next few weeks so I'd like to hear some thoughts on restoring the intercooler to its original shine.

Thanks.

I imagine a good cleaning and a fin comb would be a good start.

I would just paint it black with intercooler/radiator paint that comes in a rattle can.
