Pieces of art really. So nicely weighted, I hope this isn't the becoming of a new hobby.

Nice watch! Wear it, they are tough and you won't damage it easily.

Happy Birthday

I've had a Seamaster for years used everyday including on diy tasks etc. The glass is tough as diamonds and does not mark.

Absolutely, get it worn, I've been wearing my Seamaster everyday for the last (gulp) 15 years and it looks fine. Just give it a good clean every now & then to keep that sparkle - get one of these and it'll look brand new all the time...

yep get it worn... stainless steel and sapphire crystal glass. You wont be marking it in a hurry. Of course the bracelet will get the odd scratch on it over time, but that only adds to the character of the watch.

Likewise Rog, I've had mine donkeys years (it was cheaper than an Aston Martin DB5 for living out Godeneye fanatsties) and, apart from when I've worn my GMT master II, its been on my wrist 24/7. Great watch.

I'm going to invest in one of those cloths though, thanks for that tip.

You must wear it or you will be the one that ends up marked! A little bit of visible use will give it character anyway, unless you are allready thinking of the sale value

Ooh, nice!

Post up a picture using the 'manage attachments' option that you see when you reply to a post.

As others have said, get it on your wrist and start wearing it. I've had my Seamaster 300 for nearly 5 years and the glass is the same as the day I bought it.

Thank Scooba, he recommended them to me when I bought a Breitling off him last year for my missus, still in the packet though .

Problem is I've gone & got the itch big-time again, she's swanning around in a diamond encrusted Breitling, whilst I'm just sporting my old Omega . Desperately want something else (large Planet Ocean would do - like Ed just bought ) but funds don't allow right now (apparently I need to redo the family bathroom )

Have you been spending time with Will again?

Loving my PO - however I feel it has ignited a passion for watches that has been slowly burning away in the background for some time. I'm feeling like it's going to get expensive!

I have a GMT master II But I'll be in the lookout for a Kermit Subamriner once I've got myself a PO

No point owning a nice watch if you don't wear it IMO. My wife bought me a Seamaster when we got engaged (at least I got something decent in return for a ring...) and I wear it daily, would be a shame not to.

James Bond wears his every day so don't worry.

Actually I think he has upgraded to a PO!

After reading all these 'Watch' threads I'm getting the itch too and I know there are quite a few members with a lot of knowledge in watches so please advice/suggest.

I have a budget of around £1500-£2500 for a watch but I want something which doesn't lose much over time in case if I need to sell it or part exchange (if its possible) for a new one or even if I keep it for good.

Please suggest the right places to source them and is there any margin of negotiation.

Apologies for hijacking the thread

I've worn my seamaster everyday since 1999.

Work, play, DIY, winter sports, mbk, the lot.

It's been dropped and bashed countless times and the screen is unmarked!

The bracelet is covered in fine scratches, but they polish up easy every so often.

We use those brasso silverware cloths you get from supermarkets.

For me, it would be a Seamaster 300 Co-Axial

RRP at £2400, 20% off here:

http://www.iconicwatches.co.uk/omega...oogle_shopping

or the newer version (non-wave face), RRP £2700, 20% off here:

http://www.iconicwatches.co.uk/omega...oogle_shopping

Also available in blue!

Or even the slightly older Planet Ocean with the 2500 movement:

http://www.iconicwatches.co.uk/omega...mm-2201-5.html

Lots of other choices, but those would be mine
