Need advice please for fitment of 220M wheel/tire on 2008 E93
On a drive back from a New Hampshire this past monday my wife hit a pothole that badly damaged 3 of my 4 stock style 189 18" wheels and tires. I have been lucky enough to locate a good set of 220M style 19" wheels as a replacement.
Although I've scoured these boards for what best tire size fits the 220M style wheel, I've been unable to locate any advice specifically for the E93 convertible with sport package. Will 235/35/19 front and 265/30/19 rear fit the E93 with sport package? (I could roll the back fender if needed because of a bit of rubbing) Or Should I get 225/35/19 front and 255/30/19 rear? (I would like to avoid the stretched tire look so I'm uncertain if 255 on a 9.5 rim would be very stretched) Also, looking at the Sumitomo HTR Z III tires. Does anyone have experience with them? I have Michelin Pilot Super Sports on the damaged wheels now. Considering this is an unexpected expense I need to save somewhere. Thank you in advance for any advice you can share. Specs are:
Fronts: 19x8.5 (offset +29) Rears: 19x9.5 (offset +23) Front 235/35-19 Rear I'd try 265/30-19 but it'll be tight. Those are aggressive offsets. 255/30-19 might be better. I have 275/30-19 rear on 19x9.5 (offset +35) and I don't have much room. Maybe 5mm outer. Mines an e93 2008 335i |

Thank you for the information.
I have purchased the Sumitomo HTR Z III tires in 235/35/19 front and 265/30/19 rear from Tire Rack. (I hope they fit without much stress.) I've also purchased 4 new TPMS sensors and valve stems from Tire Rack at $55 each. Great customer service by the way as opposed to my local BMW dealer who went out of his to be a d-bag on top of an insulting $589 price tag. (Is it just my dealer that seems not to give 2 cents about their customers or all of them?) The rear tires arrive next week. I will post pictures and fitment issues if any soon after for the next person to learn from. Thanks again. |
