As above really , if at all possible i'm tring to avoid main stealer prices.

Surprised they can't rebuilt, I'd get a second opinion from these guys.

They did all 6 of my last 330d injectors - about £80 each for full refurb including new bosch internal parts. Removal/Fitting was extra. They seemed to know their stuff.

Can you let us know the outcome, and if they can't be refurbed, why not?

I got mine free from BMW as part of a recall. It might be worth checking if your car was also part of the recall.

Hi,

I would contact these guys personally

http://www.dieselspecialists.co.uk/

Swadlincote Diesel built some really good custom injectors for my friend when I used to have a Mondeo tdci.

With a few mods we managed to take a 130BHP tdci Mondeo to 283BHP (hybrid turbo, bigger intercooler, egr blanked off, straight through 2.5" exhaust, AEM meth kit and a custom 1 off set of injectors)

Plus 1. If it hasn't been done, age and image don't matter. Call them and ask if it has been done, if not your in!

New Petrol injectors were like £100 ea last time I looked. Hence not worth refurbing in my opinion.

Been in touch with the guys in Bristol and it's the same story, the 335d has the later piezo type injectors and only bosch refurbish them. Roughly 250 each for a refurbished injector.

shame - whats a new one cost?

at the time (2006?) the 330d trade off was approx £80 refurb, £250 new, so for 6 was quite a saving >£1000 in total. the bristol place had the specific test equipment to calibrate the injectors etc.

edit: should also say this was on a 120,000 miles year 2000 x reg E46 330d.

i wonder if the later e91 330d engine has the same injectors as 335d, and is also bosch only refurb?

I think this later type cover most of the 2006+ 3.0d ... http://injection-automotive.blogspot...mmon-rail.html

Not found new prices as yet .. even BMW ( according to realoem ) only do refub injectors.

Looking at about £250 each refurb , i'd expect prob another £70-80 new

Worth risking a used set from a wrecked vehicle.

A set of 6 on eBay now for £175

Its a good idea. Just make sure that they come out of damaged low mileage car and not from somebody who was having injector issues and selling them after getting his out.

Linky ?? only ones for sale i can see for 175 are priced each. It would be worth a punt for a set of 6 , even if its temporary to prove the fault
