Think this would be cool or ugly?
It's only 15 bucks so I guess it's cheap enough to take a chance. I have a CSL bootlid on the living room floor waiting to be installed, and was debating sticking this beast on there. My car is getting wrapped in matte blue metallic, and I thought this might be a cool accent to go with it (the blue light.)
It's rear-facing so I doubt I would get unwanted police attention. I'm just worried that it might be obnoxious and too bright for the people behind me. eBay link |

Rice, but it's your car and do what you want!

I was kind of afraid of that, lol. If it was subtle it might be neat, the way the lights in the door handles are... but I don't think it's subtle.

Maybe you can get it coded to only light up when the door handles light up. When you are unlocking the car, getting out of the car etc, I think that would be cool. Just not when the car is in motion.

I've seen these in person but not on a BMW and they are super bright, but what cuiter23 suggested sounds cool and what others have said it's your car.

My inclination would be to try and find a way to only have it on when the door handle lights are on as well. I wonder if that's even possible?

its not too bad, nicer if it was for off road use only like mentioned above with the doors open or whatnot. But you better believe that depending on where you live you'll have the police on you in a min!

That's the only way I would wire it - and it will not be an easy job!
My buddy got a ticket for "distracting lighting" for some wacky LED sh*t in his rear license plate frame! |

It's not for me. With your wrap, your car is going to pop without having to light the emblem. I vote no, but have fun either way, and do what makes you happy.

i'm torn, my geek side screams "fuckin do it! blue shiny lights!" my car side is saying "dont do it, looks ricer, BMW should be a clean classy look not having flashy lights" I really don't know

then you'd really differentiate yourself from the other 99% of the owners on this board... while joining the likes of another forum. *wink*

That's a pretty cool idea. I wonder if it is possible through some wire manipulation and coding. |
