How to find out which ship I'm on(West Coast)?
Does anyone know how to find out which ship I'm on if it goes to the West Coast? The East Coast guys have the WW.com website, I haven't been able to locate one for us West Coast guys. TIA.

WW does west coast deliveries too (in addition to NYK) so you can try tracking the VIN, though mine didn't show up until it'd been at sea for several days already. Also, once your car ships, your CA can tell you what boat it's on.

My CA takes awhile to get back to me usually so I was trying to do it on my own. I don't believe you can enter your VIN on NYK's site like on WW unfortunately. So I guess I will have to wait for my CA to get back to me with the ship name.

Call BMW NA directly: 800-831-1117; speak directly to an agent and give them your VIN or Production #. That is how I found out. My CA was no help.

Check the Bremerhaven schedule for ships leaving Europe at the following:
http://www.dbh.de/index.php?id=151&L=0 You will want to enter "Port Hueneme" when you go to this webpage for the destination. By calling the 1-800 number you can determine when its at Bremerhaven ("waiting for shipping vessel" status) and you will likely get on the next 1-2 ships leaving for the west coast, at which time your status will change to "en route/in transit". Then kick back until it hits the Panama Canal in 3 weeks. Hopefully you will get a WW ship and not NYK which are difficult to track. You can ultimately confirm your ship through your CA. |
