Wait for the Merc definitely.

I would perhaps propose that you could secure the M5 prior to Dec, albeit costing you another £90/month (£90 x 23 months = £2070) and they have offered you that off the deal to entice you.
Could they meet you in the middle to compensate you £1000 to keep the order? Its better than nothing at all, its still an improvement on £750.

They don't need to know that its never in your though process to actually cancel.

I'd ask that they cover the lease costs of a similar vehicle until Dec 18th. Perhaps a MBUK management car or similar. They need to show more than 750 quid to keep your business for a quarter's delay don't they?

Id ask for comp AND a car!

Friend of mine bought a new Aygo from Toyota ... and they gave her a car free til hers is ready - 3 week wait.

If Toyota can do that for an £11k Aygo, Merc have to do better given they messing you about.

Could always go with the 'ive found an ex-demo im thinking of getting instead'

Thanks for all your good advice chaps

Thing is I don't want a temporary car off them, I have a van and the wifes mini, so some naff poverty spec 2litr diesel merc will just sit on the drive.

I want cash/options instead!!!

I've been back to them and they won't budge above £750 cash, but they have offered £1000net (£1200 inc VAT) in options instead of £750 cash.

I told them of better offers to go elsewhere and they've called my bluff, I suppose they know they'll shift it as all the build slots for these get booked early each quarter, so folks are already waiting till 2014 for their's to be built.

So because I actually do want the E63, and I can now add another £1K of gadgets for free I think I'll take it.

Remember I've only paid £1000 deposit, I don't have to pay any more until it's delivered to me, so it's costing me nothing to wait, just the annoyance factor.

AND they are going up by 3% from 1st October, so I'll miss that too.

Off to browse the options list........

I'm interested to hear what completely useless option you'll add seeing as this car has everything already fitted bar a kitchen sink - heated gear knob . Night vision??

LOL, it was tricky to pick things under £1K

Ceramic brakes woud be nice, but £7.5K is a bit steep.
B&O super-duper Hifi? £4,230
Carbon dash/door trim strip? £2,990
Matt paint finish £2,775
Carbon engine cover (how useless??) £1,550
Alpaca Gray roof lining £1,470
Massage Seats £1,090
Rear screens for kids £1,765

Not for me, so I've plumped for:

Rear View Camera £300
Boot Load Securing Kit £200 (things might need securing me thinks)
Multi contour seats £500 (inflatable bits)

That should do.

Just spotted this.

I'm only 41, I haven't had my mid life crisis yet.

When that comes then I might buy a coupe, bright red maybe?

Oh, ceramic brakes and B&O, lovely, but how fecking much

Your choices sound pretty spot on to me. Would have been quite tempted by the rear DVD's but, if they were fitted, the kids would be demanding them on permanently - look very smart though and great for long journeys (as I found recently going to Cornwall!!).

Wow £4250 for B&O hifi!!! Crazy!

You can spend a quarter of that money and get much better sound quality, also with a full DSP! Spend half and you can get the above plus a sub in the boot.

You sound happy with what you've got and it seems to have taken the sting out of the wait, so that's good.

I like to feel I had an input in that
