EOI for a Car detailing course - Sydney
Hey all,
Not sure if this will generate any interest however a friend of mine recently went on a HSV club/forum organised Car Detailing Course through 'Car Care Products'. The course was aimed at the beginner, however also good for those looking for a refresher course. It covers experience using random orbitials, clay barring, sealants vs waxes, washing techniques, etc... It's a day course (Saturday) and from what I could gather, is only around $50 for the day (if booked with a group of 10-12 people). I'm just curious if anyone here would be interested? It's based in Sydney (Five Dock - 2046) and wouldn't be until some time in October or November (depending on how soon we book). I'm located in Canberra so would be willing to Taxi any locals up on the day too. Let me know if anyone's keen. Thanks! |

Mike from Car Care Products is the best in the business IMHO. I have my car fully detailed there once a year.
I have also completed the course. It's a must if you want to maintain your car's finish. It is for beginner's but gives you an insight into what is required for complete paint correction if you decide to go down that route. I have spent countless weekends washing and detailing the cars that I have owned. I would have thought I was an expert... until I attended the course. He provides some useful insight into product selection and their use, what "good" looks like compared to average. Well worth it if you plan to look after your car yourself.

My carwash attempts are always pretty half arsed. If I can work 50% as hard and get to 80% as clean then I'm happy. Let me know what is involved in the day and how long etc.. If its just $50 then might be worth tagging along

Thanks for the interest and support all!
I've been in contact with the guys at CCP and expressed interest. Looks like we should be able to get enough bodies so I've requested dates / times / cost / etc.. When I get confirmed details, I'll post back up, and if we're lacking numbers, I'll shoot across to one of the other forums here to get a few more bodies.. Watch this space! |

I've sent the EOI through to 'Car Care Products' and just waiting for them to get back to me with a few details (when / where / cost / etc).
I'll update this as soon as I hear back... Thanks! |

Hey sorry, I emailed CCP about three weeks ago chasing this up and they apologised for not getting back to me sooner. They asked for numbers etc and said they should be able to tee something up for November - but would get back to me shortly.
To be honest I'm a little sick of chasing them up about it. I would have thought they'd be up for it, but alas.. Being so close to Christmas, I doubt they (or people here) would be keen, BUT I'll shoot them another email and see what's happening. Sorry for the delay, but the ball is in their court. Stay tuned. |

Sent them an email yesterday and heard back today. Looks like we can slot in in February - depending on numbers.
I've asked them that many times for cost / number required / location / times and timeframes etc.. Blood from a stone would be easier. BUT they have said February should be a go. I'll keep pushing them for details but will bring this thread back up in January when it's a few weeks out from getting the green light. Apologies again for the delay - CCP don't run these often so it's been difficult getting them to lock something in. |
