Great write-up. Looking at this pic you have the same headlight as the one I received in the UK. Do they have 4x sidelight bulbs in each housing or has the halo been upgraded? Mine are nowhere near as bright as these.

You will have an easier time taking the bumper off as well as adjusting your lights and re-installing the bumper. Plus it would probably cut about a half an hour to an hour off of install(it took me a while to reach up and get some of the bolts holding the front bumper off)

The mounts looked and functioned the same way as the stock halogen headlight unit. Very similar to OEM.

I ordered the basic headlight unit (non led turn signals, 4 LED AE's)
I definitely recommend upgrading to the unit with more LED's in the AE's. Just 4 LED's is not that bright(If you care about AE's). They are not very noticeable during the daytime. I specifically ordered this unit because it is very close to OEM and it has projectors unlike the stock halogen. Just normal bulbs seem ten times better/brighter with projectors than the regular stock headlight unit.

I also ordered just 35w super white H7 bulbs for the time being. My car is super finicky with the HID's. So for the mean time I want to be error free. Like I said, they are ten times better inside a projector housing. Eventually I will make the upgrade to HID.

I did order the 2 turn signal bulb sockets from Jlevi. My headlight unit came with normal turn signal adapters but the quality was not as good as compared to the Jlevi turn signal adapters that I purchased. So naturally I switched them. Im sure the new LED turn signal units look great and are probably much brighter but I went the cheap route(non-LED turn signal Headlight unit). I also ordered some stealth 5707 bulbs off ebay for my turn signals. That way when the turn signal lights are off you don't have a orange reflection in the headlight. I would recommend the 5707 LED bulbs. They are much brighter than just the normal stealth bulbs.
So just to make things clear. If you order the basic headlight unit without any upgrades as far as LEDs you will not get any error codes. I've been in doubt on purchasing these lights but if anyone can clarify this statement I would greatly appreciate it and would give me more confidence in purchasing these headlights. Thanks for any help.

I think you need resistors for AE to not strobe if you have the LED AE. For the HID's, you might or might not need the error canceler. depends on the year of your car.

i think people have been getting error codes because of the problems with the HID's. some car years have trouble with the HID kits, but if you just buy the most basic package with halogen bulbs instead of the HID option, i don't think you should have a problem.

Come on people, 20 pages and no cutoff photo with HID kit installed !? I am going to use 55W HID kit since it should give less heat than 55W halogen bulb..

Garage List
Just installed mine. Took about 2-3 hours to replace both headlights. About 30 minutes wasted trying to figure out how to use the lift on the bimmer. (my boss has a lift in his garage).

throwing error codes for the angel eyes, but everything works in auto, parking, on modes. left the error cancelers at home (oops), but the error light on the computer goes away clicking on the hazards then clicking them off.

forgot to mention, it's an all halogen setup using xenesis bulbs.
regular turn signals (non led)

Changing angel eye bulbs

Hello, I have just bought these depo units for my e90, (non led rings). I would like to know how do I change the bulbs for each of the four angel eyes i.e do I need to take the front bumper off or can I do this from above. I tried looking for a while as to where these wedge bulbs are located within the unit, but without sucess. Please help

You will need to take the headlights out of the car in order to get to the wedge bulbs. Some are a bit difficult to reach. You may need to use needle-nose pliers. Someone on this forum did this and maybe has some info for you. Search this forum. Also, once you remove the back covers off the light, you should be able to see pretty easily where the wedge bulbs are located.

Excellent, thanks I found them. Mine has the t5 wedge bulbs (4 bulbs in each ring), but want to purchase the led bulbs for this, I saw that you can purchase from led wholesalers, will these throw up error codes? how would I find these on ebay? Can only seem to find the bigger standard side light leds.

I'm EXTREMELY glad to hear this, I already called Dimsum and am paying him to code this for me tonight. Fingers crossed.

Current errors I have are:

CC ID 88
CC ID 89
CC ID 119/122 [caused cause I haven't re-adjusted the bulb holder/invested in a euro bulb holder]

**The resistor trick on the AE's works and removes the error [not trying to sound smart, but I bought this set off of SharpPointyStick and that's what he did to the lights and the parking light is not throwing any errors. Just the low beam and indicator.]

Update:

So I met up with DimSum today (great guy) - reprogrammed my ECU from Halogen to Xenon and presto. No more errors about the low beams.

So to re-iterate what needs to be done for this swap to be error free, this is what I did and works
- can-bus error cancelling ballasts
- (courtesy of sharp pointystick) in-line resistor with AE to remove parking error
http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...1&d=1303705601
- flash ECU from Halogen to Xenon
- Euro bulb socket for turn signals

Enjoy.

If you need anymore info, pm me.

I know there has been problems a while back but anyone had success recently?

Thanks!

Hi guy's.

I have the same problem as this, where the beam is way too high I think.

How do I lower the beam?

Finally got these installed on my 2006 e90. I bought the UHP one w/ LED signals from ebay. I have to say I am pretty satisfied so far.

The only error I get is the low beam warning light and the fact that they don't turn off automatically when I shut off the engine (I think the OEMs did).

Didn't use any error cancellers just installed what came in the package. As mentioned in an earlier post, I wish the angel eyes just turned on by itself w/o the parking.

Quick question, I've got the Depo P90s V2 from Fishcake on ebay coming in on Monday, and I plan to code out the errors when my cable gets here sometime next week.

But.. I ordered the DEPOs with Fishcakes cheap HIDs pre-installed. If I order a new set from HPB (high performance bulbs), will I have to remove the headlights to install the new bulbs and ballasts? Or is this something I can do after I install them and leave the headlight fixture intact?

Also, I saw a few posts about how to wire the Angel Eyes to the cigarette lighter, in order to get AE's as DRLs full time. Just wondering as to which wire powers the AE's in the DEPO units (what color is it and what pin is it)? Also, can anyone provide a better DIY link that fully explains it for us electrical noobs? I found this link (http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=388252), but it is not very detailed and I believe its for a different car, not an E90.

Furthermore, does anyone have a full list of the codes to change for Halogens to Xenons, including the VOs?

Thanks!

Has anyone removed the front bumper for a pre-LCI e90 with xenons and AE's? The AE headlamp/bulb setup for pre-LCI is slightly different.
