Jb4 Installation
Hi Guys,
I am a big time Noob when it comes to car modifications! and I just got a 2012 335xi coupe. I am getting my JB4 (N54) shipped out to me and also the DCI from Burger Motors! Is there somewhere in the Boston area where I can get these installed fairly cheaply? I understand its not rocket science to install them but I rather not take a chance and mess up! Thanks! |

That is the correct JB tuner, but make sure you do a little research into which harness type your car requires.

For what its worth, I did exactly nothing to my previous cars besides oil changes and occasionally brake pads/rotors. On my n54 with zero experience under the hood I was able to have the jb4 hooked up and car buttoned back up in probably 90 minutes. That was being leisurely about it and basically spending an hour staring at pictures to make sure I was understanding what I was seeing.
Easy install man. Save the 90$ and get yourself the intake . |

I would buy the BMS USB cable and attach it while you're doing your install. Logging is important and you can't do any logging without the USB cable.

Thanks,
Anyone know where I can purchase a ER Charge Pipe from? Seems like everyone recommends getting the Charge Pipe with the JB4. So far I have ordered the E Series N55 JB4 and Intake from Burger Motor Sports. Just need to find a place to get the evolution racing charge pipe from. |

Down pipe is more essential for performance though, but I know many people do the charge pipes as well. The charge pipe can wear pretty quickly under higher boost. I just got a JB4 and DP and plan to do both. If I find a charge pipe in the next couple weeks I will do that as well. If not, then its ok because I'll probably keep everything else stock. Hope this helps.

Hey guys so I was able to get the JB4 installed with the help of a forum member. But then I had someone replace my spark plugs and in the process they disconnected the some of the jb4 wires to get the covers on. He thinks he plugged everything back the way it was but I am not sure.
Is there anything I can do to see if the JB4 is working as it should and that it was plugged in correctly ? This is how it currently looks: View post on imgur.com View post on imgur.com Last edited by kohlzor; 03-13-2015 at 02:44 PM.. |
