Does anyone know if the earlier style silver engine cover (325/330) is interchangeable with the newer black cover (from the 328)?

figured it out. you have to remove the entire microfilter housing and then it's just four bolts.

Wow. I had to change an ignition coil. I wasn't prepared to spend 1 hour to remove/re-install that nonsense engine cover and 1 minutes to change the coil. Good thing that I had the Bentley because info is very limited here.

Next time it will take me much less but that's a crazy design, having to remove all of this just to access the rear bolts.

At least my OBD code got cleared.

Sorry old thread.. do you mean just the housing that holds the microfilter (as if you were simply changing out the filter) or something more?
