Ecotune tuned ECU no longer throwing EGR code!

In May I sent my ECU to Redline Speed Worx in NJ for an Ecotune tune with "EGR delete" or adaptation in the software. When I received it back, it was apparent from the OBDII that EGR was not tuned out or reduced in duty cycle. I determined to test the coding by temporarily blocking the EGR using parts I found from a member on this forum. SES Light was set right away - EGR control deviation.

Before the big break with Ecotune, I sent the ECU back to Redline and they reprogrammed it in late summer. When I got it back, a lot of the EGR readiness tests were not working, and many of the other sensors, NoX, etc were not visible in the OBDII readout as before. However, the car runs fine and still consumes DEF.

At the time of the second reprogramming, the car was again setting the EGR code after maybe a couple days of testing. Now it seems, after three months, the EGR block still in place, it no longer throws a code.

Now I have a few questions: 1. Why would the ECU suddenly stop throwing the code? 2. Anyone else have an Ecotune noticed that many parameters are no longer visible or "not ready?" 3. What is the significance of the missing parameters and OBDII functions?

I happy to have the tune still and no SES, but I'm curious how others' ECUs with Ecotune are working.

Can you pass OBDII emissions check with your tune?

None of the Ecotune tunes have the EGR operating at 0% duty cycle.

OP, i had the Ecotune done in July. As Greek says, we all had the EGR continuing to operate. I used a EGR block kit as well and it was installed at same time as reinstall of DDE. I never got any SES light regarding EGR.

Were you running block kit prior to tuning the DDE? That is weird that it took 4 months to settle out. I wouldn't be surprised if it came back.

Knowing how multiple people's dde aren't functioning properly I'd chalk it up to dumb luck

Not sure about passing the emission test. I had the tune done first, then after determining EGR was still operating, sent it back for reprogramming. At the same time I got it back, the block was installed. That's when it started showing the code for the EGR control deviation. It was taking about an hour of driving before it came on. I'm running a stock setup except for the tune and the EGR mod, and plan to keep this unless something big stops working. I also always run B5 and power service additive.

Now however, inexplicably, the code is no longer being set. Knock on wood. If I need more tuning done in the future, Ecotune I suppose is no longer an option without shipping to Scotland.
