USB retrofit

I have a 2011 E92 xdrive. The car has Bluetooth, USB in glove box and aux port in center console. I want to add the USB in the center console, is this possible?

Can't be that hard, buy the USB center console mount, get a cheap USB printer cable and cut the 5pin end off and solder to the back of the center console factory port, then simply plug the 4pin end into the glove box. Find a wrecked center console Aux/USB port for $20 or so, printer cable is $5 max. Done!

combox, mulf high 2 or an aftermarket solution are the only options for this

Bimmertech sold me a kit for 325 bucks. It took about 45 min to install. But to be honest its not worth the 325 bucks(it also included the coding). I'm sure you can buy the parts off ebay and install. If you want PM me and ill send you pics of the stuff I got.

that USB is for map updates only... it will charge a phone but thats it

To add a USB to use to conect a media device you need to retrofit either a combox, a mulf high 2 or an aftermarket prodcut liek a dneson gateway.

i did the combox retrofit after a did a CIC retrofit and researched this very extensivly

+1 for this.
I have a 2011 e92 with bluetooth, pro nav and USB in glove box.
Centre console has only audio 3.5mm audio connecter. I've bought one of these off eBay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/132037556108?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2648&ssPageNa me=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Hoping it's just a a matter of connecting it up but will I need the MULF re-coding?
I only want to be able to upgrade firmware on the bluetooth.
Any advice much appreciated.
