Convertible question

I have a new vert and the Bluetooth phone is barely audible to the person I'm calling, is this a common problem or do I have a bad mic.?

common. I compalin every time I am at the dealer. There is no reason it should be such poor audio quality.

I was actually thinking of trying to relocate the mic in the dome light location as on the other e90's

Crank up your volume and the mic is located on steering column.

Do you have iDrive? There's an option to where you can control volumes and mic sensitivity. My defaults have been fine and I've never messed with these myself but this should solve your problem.

That sucks, thought it might be a common issue, since my last 328 sedan worked fine

I do have CIC idrive in my 2009, but I've never seen an option for mic volume. I have latest Idrive code. Where is this option?

Nobody has complained about hearing me in my E93. Most people are surprised when I tell them I am using hands-free Bluetooth. They can even hear me with the top down with no problem at highway speeds.

+1

This is my first bluetooth experience in a vehicle. I'm way impressed.

Mine works great top down, I do roll the windows up when on a call, though. Also have a windscreen, so with it and the windows up, feels like less turbulance than with a sunroof/windows open.

Nope, My 2009 does not have this option. Tried both while on/off a call.

Can you get a software update? I bet you have an older version if iDrive.

The dealer just updated to the latest last month. Pretty sure I have current version for 2009 Idrive.

+1... I have taken calls with both, top and windows down, with no problems. Once I was driving 75 mph and I was surprise they could hear me just fine.

Hmmm...if there are no options for you to change, it should be at its ideal settings. I've never messed with my options since the defaults are fine.

I would have the dealer check the hardware because it sounds like something is faulty. Judging from others' posts, your sound quality should be better.

You sure it's not your cell phone? I'm using an iPhone 3GS and it works great.
