I want a cosmetic upgrade and think the caliper upgrade would be a good way to go. It would include the brackets, SS lines and ceramic top load pads. I just need to confim if is 4 or 6 pot fronts for the non-M.

Description
Rotora Street Challenge Caliper Kit offers a cost effective solution to maximize braking performance by utilizing the vehicle’s original brake disc. Designed to fit under stock sized diameter wheels, Rotora’s caliper kit delivers superb braking power and exceptional modulation and appearance. Rotora caliper system utilizes the stock master cylinder to retain overall front-to-rear brake bias. All Rotora Caliper Kit Upgrades are fully compatible with ABS and traction control systems. All brake components are direct bolt-on systems for production vehicles with minimal modifications required.
According to this they are 6 piston and forged.

So if it's a direct swap for a 335 I think it works for 328/325. You would just need to include the rotor, pads, and backing plate. If you're going for looks, the BMW Performance/ 135i calipers look good, but for actual performance, that calipers aren't the best. The 335 rotor is larger and has a much larger swept area.

This kit will be an upgrade even for the 135i!

UPDATE: Rotora no longer offers the caliper upgrade (they stopped 3 years ago). Back to the wait list for the F30 adapters.

May I ask what pad compounds you'll be using?

Harold,

I think the following would get me to purchase the 4-pot Brembo upgrade that you are proposing immediately.

1. Maintaining the same f/r braking bias as OEM
2. A multitude of pads available for both street and track. Personally for me it would be my poison of choice, PFC01's.

That's pretty much it. If those two are there, I'd buy.

i think what we really need is to retrofit those BMW M performance calipers that they just announced not too long ago! They look pretty cool.

Any updates on the testing with the custom pads? I'd like to consider this kit for my 335i M-sport.

I don't know about you guys, but custom pads sounds like a terrible idea. If I'm interpreting that correctly, that means only 1 source for brake pads? How long would they be produced? God for bid what if they decide to close up shop or go out of business.... And then there's resale, I don't think you'd find much of a market to sell your car if you have to tell the new owner, "hey, you can only get brake pads from this one company..."

Once the pads are made and shape disclosed, one can purchase pads just about any manufacturer.

My apologies, I must misunderstand your use of the word custom.
