What to code for installation of aftermarket seat?
I will be installing Recaro Pole position, what to code?
what to disable the airbag error? If I code it, would it disable all the air bags? |

I'll check my lists tonight but changes are done in ABG module. Afterwards, just clear errors in INPA.

I also had Recaro seat on driver side (RHD), already disable the following code at ABG module but still cannot able to clear the warning lights by INPA. Someone please point us to the right direction. Thank you.
SIDEBAG_RECHTS_1 OC3_1 GK/OC3/POL

Just a guess, for the sport seat retrofit, VO code K-word RECA, or K-word RECF for the drivers seat only and default code the appropriate modules.

Is sport seat retrofit meaning - is it for those BMW Perf. seat which has side airbag? The race seat I put it do not have any airbag. Thanks

here's what I did.
Depends on which side of the seat you changed, in my case I only set RECHTS_1 to non-active as I change the right side only. And make sure you ~ Unplug the under seat clip > coding > plugin > clear the error w/ Inpa. SIDEBAG_LINKS_1 (Make this nicht_aktiv, this is left side seat airbag.)* SIDEBAG_RECHTS_1 (Make this nicht_aktiv, this is right side seat airbag.)* OC3_1 (Make this nicht_aktiv, this is the occupancy mat.) GK/OC3/POL set to nicht_aktiv AKS_LINKS_1_CD (Make this nicht_aktiv, - left side active head restraint.) AKS_RECHTS_1_CD (Make this nicht_aktiv, - right side active head restraint.)

Adding the REC VO code doesn't work for aftermarket seats, only BMW performance seats.
I've had to disable various other airbag system components for all the errors to go away and get the light on the dash to go off. It's different for every car I have done but if you look at what faults are stored in the ABG/MRS module, you can match them to lines in the ABG/MRS module. Eventually, you'll get all the errors to go away and the light to go off. It's trial and error. I normally change a line, code it, then try to clear faults. If an error goes away, I leave it and move on. If it remains I change the code back and try another. |
