100 octane gas?

I'm thinking of trying it if its safe. My car is pure stock. Would it make a difference? Is it safe?

Sorry if this is a dumb question and thanks for looking!

No - as others have said your ECU has to be tuned to take advantage of the higher octane by advancing timing.

You will real havock in neigborhoods across your town. Flames will shoot out of your muffler like a snarling beast. Children will run to their mothers crying due to the horrific sound being eminated from your car. There will be an apocalyptic presentation of pure German engineering upon the luminescent appearance of a green light at every traffic stop. Idk, lol.

Thanks guys! Guess I should upgrade the JB3 I have from my last car and give the race gas a chance.

If it is leaded airplane fuel I would strongly recommend removing the catalytic converters before using it. Leaded fuel will eventually cause them to stop working, which was most of the reason unleaded fuel was introduced in the first place. The health benefits of removing lead from the evironment being the other reason.

But all you will be doing is wasting money, octane levels over BMWs recommendations will make no difference at all on a stock car.

I run on 103 often but I have JB4 and it makes a huge difference. Car runs great on higher octanes as long as you have a tune.

I was just about to tell you to look futher. I have a very good friend in the Comsumer Affairs Department here in Puerto Rico (they are in charge of regulating gasoline prices and products, among others) and asked him to let me know where I could find 93, since everyting I was getting was 91. He finally located a gas station. He told me they have 93 and 100 pump gas, and that they also sell 112 and 116 in containers.

So, its just a matter of looking further.

A 76 gas station in Irvine, CA has 100 octane at the pump. I did a 1/3 mix with 91, and my butt dyno definitely felt a difference.

what about lowering the octane ,, i used to use 95 but someone told me that i can use 90 instead of 95 and use small bottle (i can buy from any gas station ) that raises the octane level. thats because 95 is expensive in Jordan compared to 90.

so will this make any difference to car performance or will it have any bad effects ?

Lowering the octane level of the fuel you put into the car below the manufacturers minimum recommendation will cause the ECU to adjust the timing to avoid engine knock. It will feel less lively.

Its probably not going to make a difference unless your having timing corrections. But most likely not. If you were tuned for 100 octane it would make a difference. A local gas station near me sells 100 octane cam 2 and I tried it once while using COBB stage 2+FMIC. I cant say I really felt a difference. And it cost me $9.99 a gallon which seems like a real rip off.

Not entirely true. You will get somewhat of a difference, but not noticeabley enough to run it consistently.
