Wheel weight out of place?
I received my winter tire and wheel package for my 07 328i recently from Tire Rack and after unpacking them, on the last wheel I found this:
At first I thought the adhesive wasn't sticky enough so the weight got dislodged so I wiggled it a bit to see if it was loose but its stuck on there real good. What should I do if anything? Can I just leave it the way it is? |

There is no way that is right. Are there any weights behind the spokes?
Call TireRack Customer Service and show them the problem. You'll have to have the wheel rebalanced at a local shop. They should reimburse you for the rebalancing. Not the end of the world. [edit] I see the weights now behind the spoke on the top left corner.

Definitely looks like it fell out of its original location. That just happened to me recently. I was taking pictures of one of my wheels and I noticed the longest wheel weight at the bottom of the wheel. This could happen from time to time and depends on who installed them or the quality of the adhesive. Mine may have been due to the heavy rain when I had my wheels mounted and balanced.

yes, it must have not been applied properly the first time so came off in shipping and managed to stick itself on good....just pick it off carefully and rub some alcohol on it to remove the rubber residue and have it rebalnced...shouldnt cost more than 10 or so...
