Bumper repaint woes
Long story short, bumper got repainted several times. Old thread here
Bodyshop decided to scrap the old bumper and buy a new one for their 3rd attempt at this repaint. It's been about 3-4 weeks since the last repaint and my bumper is turning yellow/dull. Is it really that hard to match plastic bumpers to the fenders and hood? This is driving me nuts! |

Some angles really bring out the difference. Guess it's time to ask them to pay for the work at another body shop. Gave them three shots. |

Likely you're referring to the haze on the bumper, and it seems its more likely because they aren't polishing the finish correctly which is leaving a lot of compounding haze. I'd be interested in seeing how it looks correctly polished to full clarity.

Good point. That is the best way to describe what I am seeing, hazy.

Did you buy your car from Crevier in Santa Ana?

Well.....color matching is a B!t@& between the metal and plastic parts....walk up to a brand new car at the lot and stay couple feet away and you will see the difference when the sun hits it. did you see the featured 335i to M3 car on the main page? here is a pic below, you can see the difference very easily.....!

Here is mine too
Repainted 2 times, it looked so bad, that the guy gave up on the BMW Alpine paint coding and created his own mix with more dark color in it, after many tries I couldn't be happier but still......I can see a relatively slight difference when "I TRY" to look for one.
