Warranty Voided!!

Took my 335i in saturday to get my low pressure fuel pump replaced(didnt know it had one!) and my SA tells me my right side adaptive headlight is not moving with the steering wheel and its pointing towards the outter right. He told me hes gonna find out if it can get fixed and calls me today in the morning to tell me my car is ready but the warranty is not gonna cover the headlight because the bottom is missing a SCREW! I told him i got the car pre -owned and that i have scraped the bottom a couple of times when i park because im still getting use to it. he said theirs nothing he can do that to run a diagnostics its gonna be 152.00! what should i do? where can i get this fixed because my car is throwing a error symbol. any help would be appreciated....

Where do you guys find these corrupt dealers? This is the craziest thing I have heard. If I were you I'd go back to the dealer where you bought the car as a CPO and tell them what happened.

Interesting....my adaptive xenon on the driver's side is pointed towards the left and won't work too. Went to two dealerships and they wouldn't cover under warranty. They gave me some bs reason and wanted to charge me 3 hours worth of time (~$300-350) to fix it. Sigh.

I don't understand why they wouldn't cover yours? Its not like you had a screw missing

If I were you, I would tell the SA to shove it, let him know he was of no help, and let him know you're taking your business elsewhere; Which is exactly what you are going to do regarding this. You could also complain to the Fixed Operation director before you leave.

Also, I wouldn't call the topic of the thread "Warranty Voided", since that would mean that your car no longer has warranty on anything at all. Instead you could call it "Warranty Denied" or somethign like that.

bottom of the bumper was missing a screw, guess when he took a look at the headlight they took the whole front grill and seen it missing

the bottom of the headlight wasnt scraped the front grille was, im thinking he asumed i tried messing with the headlights or something and opened the housing...

guess the lesson learned here is fix what ever it is you are going in for service first, then when you take it in it will work and they wont void the warranty.

sucks, but you should edit the title to "voided warranty: headlight"

while I was installing jb3, I found out that my ecu cover missing one screw..

I never touched it before and bought it as new...

according to this thread, I have risk for this?
