Noise while turning in reverse
I recently noticed in reverse, that when im backing up and turning there is a noise like a groan, coming from under the hood.
Im not sure if its from the steering column or something to do with the wheels. It happens only when the steering is in a certain turning position and im moving in reverse. Any thoughts anyone? |

I have heard this before too. Do you have aftermarket wheels? I noticed that my wheels are so tight in the wheel well that they actually slightly rub on the wheel well near the oil cooler vent. I am not sure but maybe your wheel is rubbing as well.
That is all i have come up with so far...

It's probably just the power steering pump groaning.
It is pretty loud in comparison to other cars I have driven. Try moving the wheel to full lock - if it sounds the same but louder, definitely PS.
