centre console rattle

The centre console in my E92 has developed a rattle that is driving me crazy. Seems to be worse in cold, but I have now got massively fed up with it. I can stop it by pressing firmly the strip of plastic between the heated seat buttons. This isn't a long term fix obviously so I was wondering how difficult is it to remove the centre console to see if i can find a fix that way? I looked for a tutorial on it but I am a bit rubbish with searches / patience!

The center console can come off in seconds. They are all push clips and there are hundreds of articles or search youtube for a video.

But even if you take the trim off... What would you do to stop it?

What I did when my corsa developed rattles, was to go to tesco and buy one of their 60p car washing sponges and then wrap just enough of it around the affected clip/plastic/whatever and it would shut it up nicely

+1. Happens when the engine cover isn't fitted back on properly.
