Yes sir! I'm hoping the intermediate/advanced groups are a bit smaller since this event is aimed at first time/intro drivers. See you on the track ... I am itching to go!

It was f#$%ing incredible today. ~70*F, no humidity, full sun, light breeze, like a day on the beach. I had a BLAST. God d@mn.

I got some nice video via my Sony Action Cam. I'll upload it when I'm not at a hotel.

BTW - on my clean runs where I don't have to pass people or let people by, I am doing a 1:19. I'm also cooking my brakes ... VAC is going to do a custom brake cooling solution for me next week w/ hoses and stuff.

Nice, I was actually thinking about how nice the weather was... would've been perfect track day LOL.

Very nice and keep us posted on the brake cooling solution.

Crossing my fingers for the weather to stay like this for another couple of weeks!

I will keep you posted on the brakes - it involves using these guys:
http://store.bimmerworld.com/carbon-...tes-p1412.aspx

It was another great day ... we had the classic 'NJMP bubble' effect which kept the rain off all but the last session, which I skipped. It looked rather slippery as it was raining lightly, which really slicked up the track; the group before us had a few spin outs including a dangerous one on the top of turn 1. But overall great event. ixm3 and I had some nice runs.

I have video from my Sony Action Cam, the thing is strange because it records 60p/120p but the video file it produces is 30p unlike the Go Pro. I figured out how to speed it up in Vegas but for the average joe, they'll be stuck with a half or quarter speed video. There is also no sound in 60p/120p (also unlike the Go Pro). Stupid decisions by Sony. It's taking quite a while to render stuff on my computer ... guess I should have opted for the quad-core processor.

3 years ago I was using a Sony cam, it was a PITA due to the output format it was using but I somehow found out that vimeo knew how to normalize the format and fps settings automatically. It may be worth trying to just upload your video and see what happens. (and then dl).

Yeah Youtube is giving me a hard time about the length of the video. I'll try Vimeo instead.

Peter, what resolution do you render the videos at? Mine is 27 minutes, rendered at 720p 6mbps it is 3.6GB.

iPhone ftw?

sorry, I had to... after having owned both a GoPro HD and Contour HD, I've resorted to my iPhone. At first I thought the absence of the wide angle lens would be noticeable but truth is I still get a good view of everything, including the track ahead of me. Not to mention this allows overlaying my lap times with video to happen effortlessly. And exporting / uploading to YT or Vimeo doesn't require any unique settings. The native format of the video iPhone produces works well with most sites.

My super slow lap at T-bolt, recorded with iPhone5 (front facing 720p), HLT 16.6

Charles it should work. I have a few 720p videos on my account. I think there was a box I had to check before it would let me upload large files.

P.S. If you're in town next Saturday, 27, Helix dyno day. I'm curious to see what you are putting down.

3GB on the GoPro for 720p/60fps ~25 mins. Same for 1080p/30fps.

Yep, same ballpark. I remember using Pinnacle's Studio to convert the Sony videocam files (.mts maybe?) to something the rest of the world liked before I discovered vimeo will do the same and much faster.

I realized this kind of video isn't that useful for learning/figuring out what I was doing. In the future I'll have a cockpit mount showing driver inputs. I noticed the camera has a wide angle, I am right on the lines but it looks like I'm a few feet off.
I cut the audio out for obvious reasons.

NJ BMWCCA @ NJMP Lightning Oct 15

Here is my short video from the same event. 2009 M3
Disclaimer for inconsistent driving: I was battling a pronounced understeer due to poorly staggered tire sizes.

You may not be off but as you mentioned, can't really tell from the video. This setup should help you record driver inputs, give it a try next time. It should pass CCA tech with flying colors, other clubs' probably not.
