Smoking Odor...
What up fam,
Probably going to get flamed and burnt at the stake for this but Ive been smoking a lot in my car, ever since I got it in fact, I quit for about 3 months detailed my car changed cabin air filter, and smelt clean as a whistle, I was also a detailer at Chrysler so I kept my car spick and span for a year. Just relapsed and started smoking again, with it being winter I smoke a lot in my car whilst driving, was wondering if anyone can chime in on ways too get the dreadful smell out. I know various ways but I know longer have access to my huge wash bay or all the products I used when I was a detailer. Respects, Drew |

In the same boat, sometimes I leave the sunroof titled up but it's been to cold lately to do that and it really doesn't help much with the smell. Subbed for some good info

aside the obvious detailing (especially the headliner) and those odor bomb type products, you need to rent yourself an ozone machine if you really want to get as much out as possible.

You might want to look into a shop that does steam cleaning.
Most of that smell is in the headliner and pores that steam will be able to get into. |

hmm, I don't get it, why not just keep the window slightly open, keep your smoke in the hand close to the window and breathe out towards that open window, when driving all the smoke is being sucked out through that window. I keep my window an inch down then after I am done I still keep the window open for some time, you are still going to be warm, I do that in -30 weather. None of my friends are smokers and they always tell me that if they did not know I smoke in the car they would never guess. Having leather seats helps, clean your vehicle as often as you can including all the windows (you would be surprised but smoke gets on that as well), I do mine once a month as I hate messy floor mats and dast and I like my windshield to be always clean Get some nice air fresher as well, but don't turn it on full, just as minimum as you can to give you that gentle smell BMW has some nice ones and they do last me for up to 3 months each.

You could also buy or rent a cheaper ozone machine or access the same location to spray into with the bottled ozone as someone else suggested.

A lot of people don't understand how groupon works...
They take a huge cut off the top and the company doing the work gets the left overs. The only way a company can make money with Groupon is through pure volume and cost saving measures. Ask yourself...how much service will you honestly get at such a steep discounted rate. The business model of most top notch detailers in the market are not volume driven and in general, the quality level of high volume shops can't be measure up to the top notch detailers so you do get what you pay for. IMO...Steam is the best way (no harmful chemicals or potential health risks associated with ozone generator) to deodorize carpets and upholstery but Headliner is very tricky. Inject too much moisture and it will sag in time. Dry steam is ideal for this application. It takes experience to do this right.

Go to Art's rental or any good tool rental company and rent an Oxygenator. This is an electric machine that puts a third part of oxygen in the air and that eats any and all odors. That is assuming you have cleaned the car as well as humanly possible, including carpet and healiner and of course seats and dash.
You'l be pleasantly surprised and it won't take long being a small car interior. I used one on my 40' boat to kill the odor of mildew and mold, three hours did it 100%. YOU HAVE TO AIR THE CAR OUT WHEN FINISHED TO ALLOW THE AIR TO BALANCE. HUMANS BREATHER O2 NOT O3. Good luck.
