So for the past few years i've had to add oil occasionally and its been mentioned by my local indy shop that i have minor oil leaks but nothing serious. Now i can SMELL and SEE smoke from the oil leak. When i start the car i can see the smoke and smell comes through A/C vents. i was freaking out till i read the forums and saw people had these leak but not all at once!! is this common?

i'm scheduled to get the first 2 fixed because they say my oil pan was for sure the smallest leak to save me costs for now. this is of course after me just replacing $900 water pump and $500 for 3 broken/leaking hoses. the car is paid off but these expenses are preventing me from saving for next car. would like to hear from others. I have 120,000miles by the way

I have an oil pan leak aswell.... :/ 700$ dealer quoted me and its not covered under my extended warranty

I just got all those fixed..
Valve Cover Gasket:
Got this fixed couple weeks ago..Shouldn't be more than $450 the smoke is from that because the oil is dripping onto your headers. Get that fixed asap.

Oil Filter Housing Gasket:
Just fixed it last night. Its a $15 part and shouldn't be more than $200 including the part to fix.

I also have a leaky oil pan but I'm going to wait that out for a while longer til I hit 100k miles in about 10k more.

These 3 are the main problems with our cars everyone runs into them sooner or later so its very common. Just get them fixed make sure you don't get ripped off and they use Genuine BMW parts.

Since i've hit 100K i feel its been downhill like i'm rebuilding the car. i know nothing last for ever but.... idk
