Do you regularly use the car (eg does the car have enough run time to charge battery?)
My battery went bad on me 1.5yrs into my ownership. Battery was replaced under original factory warranty. It's been good since (4yrs on second battery). |

Drive more! I made my battery warning disappear within a few hours of driving

What is the year of the car ?
If you have and 06 or 07 you are due for a battery .
If you have a low use or short in town commutes you can wear out a battery in these in as little as two years. This is one of the major problems that keeps coming up over and over on these boards now that the HPFP problem seems to be fixed. http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...hlight=battery Last edited by ctuna; 01-03-2013 at 03:44 PM.. |

(inside the last post i posted to you) They may tell you your not driving enough you should get a battery tender for long term battery health . These car are battery hogs. There is probably close to a dozen electronic modules sucking power plus the electric water pump. |

Doubtful, same thing happened to me, so I replaced the battery at 5 yrs. I kept the old battery, and it is perfectly good. BMW told me the battery is designed to last minimum of 6 years (of course as it would last longer than the warranty).
Just invest $47 in a battery tender, and charge your battery to full, and try it again. I bet you can sit in the car 60 min. + after that. It is hard to conceptualize that the car is not fully charged when you drive it, but it's totally true. My car would sit in the garage for 3 wks., I'd drive it 50 miles stop and go, figuring by the time I'm done, it's fully charged. The battery was not fully charged this way. The other thing you do, and it is what the BMW dealer would do, is to load test your battery, AFTER fully charging it. If it passes a load test, it is GOOD, no ifs, ands, or buts. good luck |
