High pitched cricket sound when under moderate acceleration?
I have been having an issue with my '06 330i that is driving me nuts. After the car warms up, when under moderate acceleration a high pitched sound, like a cricket, from around the passenger dash is made. It's the same symptom as the unplugged golf tee issue, yet my exhaust vacuum hose is hooked up normal (although the flap in the muffler does not work). The strange thing is this only occurs when the climate control unit is on. Turn it off and the sound goes away as well. Could it be a vacuum leak somewhere else? But where? Any suggestions at all as to what this is?
Video attached showing the sound and its behavior when the climate control is on/off (turn volume up high). |
