Yeah been done before...by the look of it its a DPE style baggage container which is slightly smaller than what is a standard fit for a B747/A330/40/80 series.Its possible it didnt get to the blades on the turbine so small superficial damage to the outer cowling is caused.Other airlines would just do a inspection,engine run test if not damaged and then ferry her back to NRT empty(Tokyo) and be done with it.

If it was a container for this plane it wouldnt fit inside the cowling of this type aircraft as its to large for the outer size.

Any container would be swallowed by a A380/800 or B777/200ER/300 as they are monstrous size engines.

If damage is slight we use speedtape for all jobbies.
