I've wanted to go to Cresson for quite some time, but the drag strip is A LOT cheaper and it's A LOT of fun, trust me. Since the meet's still 2 weeks out there's enough time to change the place if enough people agree to it.

the BMWCCA has track events (DE's) regularly- also there is a company -APex i think- that does track days out there. cost is usually 250 for 1 day or 350 for the weekend. includes instruction.

Dang thats still pretty steep. If it was like $80 a day that would be perfect. $250 could go to a meth kit easily.

really not sure which to vote. don't really want to go to the track until i get a few more mods...and with the giant group we have now we're going to be a rolling target...lol :/

I voted to move this meet to the Dallas Raceway, mainly because with this many people we're sure to attract the kind of attention we don't want. Also, I'm curious to see what my car will do in the 1/4 mile.

Denton is another good option on Test N' Tune night (they do it on Wednesday). It's 1/8 mile, but the one time I went, it wasn't crowded at all. We could literally run as many times as we wanted.

That said, I'm game for anything. I'll be there for whatever is decided.

Not to be a party pooper but don't think it's a good idea to be testing tunes on city streets either. I would go to a track or sometimes I find a large warehouse area that has a decent length of smooth pavement for some launches.

I'm very hesitant to have this many people try anything on public roads...that's just asking for unwanted attention and/or trouble. I voted to move this to the 1/4 mile track also, but whatever way the vote goes, I'll abide by that. For those of you who have never been to a drag strip, I highly recommend it even if your car is bone stock....it's fun and it will give you a great baseline to compare future mods to....

I say the brickhouse meet because idk if I'll be able to get a good launch on the fx400 clutch that just got broken in but if we do go to Dallas Raceway I guess that would be a great time to learn it.

Yeah I would love to have a meet to test the tunes, but it's just a bit dangerous on public roads. Doing it at the strip will be a much better option. No risks, and more info on each tune (times). If we do the brickhouse meet I would not be able to test the car the way I like (1/4 mile runs).

I voted option 1 but mainly just to meet up Sat, think that's what most people are thinking as well.......drag strip can be for another day since it looks like a couple of people are still waiting on some mods.

I voted option 1 only because I can't make option 2 on Friday. Otherwise I totally agree for the reasoning for moving it. Definitely has grown beyond the original idea of a few 335's w/ different tunes meeting up. We will see.

I appreciate everyone's input and reasoning. Like I said previously, which ever way the vote turns out, that's the way it's gonna be. If the strip doesn't happen this time, then the next one for sure. The response has been overwhelming and I'd just like to get as many people together without any of us having to worry about getting ticketed/arrested. We'll see how the vote turns out and go from there. There will be a full week after the vote closes till the actual meet so there should be plenty of time to adjust to the winning option.
