Just did mine. Very easy to do, but I went nice and slow as I hate working with plastic on cars as it seems to break easily.

The most challenging thing was figuring how to pop the bulb rack out of the lights on smaller trunk lights. Once I found the tab to move over to the side it was easy the rest of the way.

I did have to buy some colored bulbs for the turn signals as I have the euro-style with clear plastic in this area. From previous experience back in college, clear turns signals in the back are a magnet for cops here.

I did the exact same thing and had to take one from the OEM light. Does anyone know what that screw (one with a hex nut in the middle and 2 rods with different threads on both ends) is called? I want to replace it on the OEM so I can sell it on.

Just did it this morning. The first side took about 15 minutes per light, the second side about 2 minutes per light. A few things that I found:

- On the driver's side inner assembly, you don't have to "undo" the carpeting at all. There is a small removable section of carpet you can simply pull out with your hands in 1 second. Everything you need should be accessible there.

- You don't generally need to unplug the lights. The actual lamp assembly will come off of the old tail light and be reused. As noted above, there is a single tab on each assembly that holds it in place. Just undo that tab and you can leave it plugged in.

- Make sure you are using a nice, wide flat head screw driver. Once you start pulling out the fastener a little, you can just use a HAMMER to pull out the fasteners. The reverse side of a hammer has the same function as those fancy fastener removers.

- I lost a nut, but fortunately my depo lights came with 2 extra, so I didn't have to bother searching for it.

Hey guys does anyone know how to remove the plugs that are on the top corners of the trunk liner? Even with the plug remover, it won't come out!

Are they the ones that have a small pin in the center? The plug will have a smaller circle in the middle, if so.

The pin (center piece) needs to come out and then the clip comes out. I use some small flat pliers/cutters and gently pull it up.

Well actually what I did for those corner plugs was that I slid the plug remover tool under the plug as much that it would go and then I applied a little bit of force until it started to slide out.

A couple of notes/observations:
- to remove the 8 plugs, 2 screwdrivers work much better and easier than pliers.. much less prone to scratching the plugs too.

- with the blacklines installed and the rods lit, some of the light bleeds into the upper portion (smoked/clear portion) of the lights.. maybe some electrical tape inside or something to seal off the areas would work (kind of hard to explain, but if/when i take pics, it'll explain it better).

- the larger tail light sections (bumper, not trunk) are each secured by 3 bolts. for whatever reason, my original lights were only secured by 2 (on the sides, no bolt on top) bolts on each light : BMW owes me 2 bolts..

For those three bolts , do you know what size/type they are ?
