Does anyone know how to completely remove the cup holders? Is there an alternative trim that does not have holes for the cup holders in the dash?

Pretty simple to remove/install.

1) Remove the trim piece around the cupholders. Start at the right side, then pry (I prefer to use a Craftsman rivet puller wrapped in a rag) at the two aluminum rivets that go into the blue pieces shown below. The outer clips should come off easily.

2) Unscrew whichever cupholder you want to remove.

3) When reinstalling, be sure that the tab in the back of the cupholder lines up with the recepticle on the top of the glove compartment.
