335i Oil Level Sensor change

Anyone done this before? BMW quoted me $395.00 not including tax to replace this.

Has anyone replace this before? and is it fairly easy? thanks.

I haven't done one, but reading the Bentley shop manual the procedure looks easy enough. The sensor is in the oil pan. Drain the oil, unplug the connector, remove the three retaining nuts and drop the sensor out of the oil pan and replace.

Thanks heaps Eninty...I suppose I'll have to remove underbody shroud to get to it ? I coudn't see it when I did the oil change.
My gauge told me to add 3 litres in about 1000km, when I changed the oil I had 7 1/2 litres come out and it only takes 4 1/4 so I can only assume it is the Sensor.

If you go to realoem.com and pull up the drawing of the "engine housing" it shows the oil pan and placement of the sensor. On the 320i four-banger the sensor is on the side of the pan at an angle. It's not on the bottom like on the N52 and N54 engines.

That's where I'm totally confused Entity...I've removed the shroud and IT IS ON THE BOTTOM and not on the side as per RealOEM. I see the 323i which Real show as vertical and the 320i 4 cyl both have same O ring so I think I'll just replace the O ring for now and see if that makes a difference. Local BMW want $25 just for the O ring and quoted $672 for the Sensor PLUS O ring, plus fitting...no thanks !!
Still stumped as to what is correct Sensor though because of different drawings. Maybe I can figure it out by counting the bolts in the sump pan...hopefully
