The interior is from a cdi version.
The sport steering wheel looks good, but the "airbag" inscription is so bad positioned I like more the M steering wheel If we compare the top verions M Sport vs Avantagarde there is a clear winner: M Sport LCI We can t compare a 328i vs 250 cdi (it s like comparing apples with oranges ) We can compare a 330d with a 250 cdi and we' ll have again a clear winner (the bimmer), same result when comparing a 320d with a 220cdi and so on |

The M-Sport does have some nice touches. Since these are both diesels, here is a pic of my 335d. Note the -/+ left/right paddle shifters on the M-Sport steering wheel, and the nice thumb rests, foot rest, etc.
As far as black vs white. I have one of each. I prefer the white as an all around color. Black looks nice in the shade, or when its spotless. Otherwise in direct sunlight, it shows too much, has too much glare/reflection, and seems to deteriorate faster than white. The white looks good at night, in bright sunlight, and most conditions. Not to mention its one of the safest colors, and black is one of the worse according to the insurance safety institute.

MB has been putting the secondary seat controls there for a while now. They were on my friend's W208 CLK430 and my wife's old W203 C320. |

Don't even argue this one; Mercedes (e class onwards due to size) gets respect because of that start, E class is downright ugly...but just ends up looking nice in person due to that giant star!! And thats a good thing! Bimmer will never draw attention like a Mercedes. |

there is just something about that big bold mercedes grill that just screams sexy and dominance that the bmw kidneys cannot replicate...especially with these new variations, like the moustache grill on the pre-lci e90 and the huge barbecue grills they put on the new 7-series. Atleast when you saw an e46 creeping up behind you, a little fear would run through your body, but that feeling has long gone with these new designs...atleast imo.

congratulation MB, your new face-lift just re-categorized C class back into the old man's car category. I doubt anybody younger than 30 will find the new C class more attractive than 3s

Your use of the phrase "cheap merc" implies that the typical mercedes isn't that...cheap. This is just one person's opinion, but the W204 I drove felt much more solid than the 3 series or the M3 that I've owned (not to mention the e90 328i loaners I've had). The driving experience is another story. The merc feels more like a luxury sedan with sporty intentions, the bimmers were sporty sedans with touches of luxury. There is some overlap as I know tons of guys who had a tough time deciding between an e90 and the W204. I'm sure those in similiar situations would have an easier time knowing that the updated C is going to have technologies handed down from the E class (attention assist, etc). I've had a good amount of time behind the wheel of a 2010 E300 and a F10 528i when test driving both back to back for my mother-in-law... I was pretty disappointed by the experience. Going into the test drive, my bias was towards the bmw. But after driving both, the bimmer felt like it was reaching too far to attract mercedes owners - the steering felt very artificial and disconnected, and hte car itself lacked an "organic" feel of my bmws of yore. I actually preferred the steering of the merc! The E300 also felt more solid overall (not to mention had safety featured not offered in the bmw). I wanted to hate the merc, but it was hard to fault (same can't be said about the f10). looks are totally subjective but I found a picture of a merc without the "huge star"....is it really that revolting? |

Though the 3 series is the entrie level car for BMW like the c class is for Benz The c class has been way to girlie looking for me. Not mention the new one looks like a Hyundai or Kia. IMHO.

I do agree that mercedes caters to a more mature target market. After all, merc has many more models above 100K than bmw or audi, so naturally, you'll find the median age of a benz owner is higher than those of bmw and audi. BUT, I am disappointed that bmw does not have models that compete eye to eye with the SLS (and previously the SLR), SL, etc. I'd like to see a bimmer that'll do this to an R8 V10: though I am a bmw fan, it's hard to be one these days when they've drifted from their core competencies. |

eew. both of those cars are in need of some TLC.
but obviously the bimmer looks better, but i can't get over that funny-looking hood crease coming from the emblem. it makes the whole car look kind of fat. interiorwise, that has to be the most hideous interior in the mercedes. there's nothing to hold the materials together visually. i like the bmw a lot more (some bias from me having the same interior :P) out e92>e90>c-class lci>c-class int e9x>c-class>c-class lci |
