Yes, welcome back Terry. Before all of the bashing and retarded arguments between tuners on here, you use to bring up some very interesting discussions regarding the 335 so its nice to see you back here without all the BS. Hopefully it can stay that way.

It is good that Terry is back. JB1 and JB2 are working and there are a lot of satisfied customers around and on this forum. I really appreciate Terrys contribution here.

Looking forward to more tech posts from you. Great pics by the way. Any new 1/8 or 1/4 mile times with the JB2R? |

Why cant everyone lay off the bullshit and concentrate on improving the performance of our rides. It doesnt matter if you like or dislike Terry or Shiv or any other tuner or whatever you want to call them. You dont have to live or hangout with them.Any useful knowledge from whoever it comes from is what we need here.

Guys by continuing to talk about that inflammitory post, it keeps giving it new life. Just let it go and move on, thereby completely killing it. Of course a deletion would be the best thing, but until that happens you're letting him control this thread. It was a bad post, it's been commented on many times, now let's move on.
Welcome back Terry.

Welcome back Terry. I appreciate your contributions even if I'm not always in agreement with how things went in the past.
Question... So your theory is that aftermarket tuners cannot improve upon timing correction of the ECU? As long as boost and fuel "adjustments" that are made are within the limitations of the ECU, everything is ok? I really just want to understand my car better. I don't have the background to enlighten others, but appreciate those that do.

It's probably easier to understand with an example: Say at 3000rpm, 5psi, 91 octane, etc, the car is calling for 8 degrees of total timing, but you want to tune it for 5 degrees of total timing. With a piggyback you can offset the cps sensor 3 degrees, but the adaptive timing system will learn out that change and add back in an extra 3 degrees. You wind up with the same total timing from a combustion point of view, but shifted the boundaries of the limp mode. At some point if you offset the cps enough the ECU will run out of room to add timing back in and you *can* effect the actual timing, but then you take away the ECUs ability to adapt to higher octane gas or cooler temperatures. |

Welcome back Terry.
Hopes everybody forget about the past, and thinks about the contribution he can make to this forums other than JB* support. I've seen he likes to help with other stuff too, that he's pretty active on the forum, something others can't do because of their busy work life.
