Your Thoughts on this Transmission Sound
Hi all,
The vehicle: 2011 335is, 5200 klms or around 3200 miles Looking for your ideas on this sound coming from transmission. I'lll be taking it into the dealership shortly but wanting to be prepared. When the transmission is downshifting ( in D mode ) from 7th - 2nd it's very smooth but when shifting from 2nd - 1st there almost a simultaneous soft clunk sound as it slides into 1st. I've had the vehicle for 3 weeks and just started to notice it over the last week. Your thoughts are much appreciated. |

DCT transmission right?
I would take it to the dealer but willing to bet you that is the nature of the DCT. Shifting from 2nd to 1st means it is going from one set of gears (2-4-6) to the other set (1-3-5-7). Verify that it is operating correctly but willing to bet that is normal function.. Last edited by fun2drive; 11-12-2012 at 09:33 PM.. |
