Another reason to get a f30

My lease is up in 4 months and I was actually considering stick with the e90 since i love the n54 so much, but I just realized my cousin's f30 335i stock has an LSD!

Not sure if this was common knowledge, but it having an LSD is a big deal. i personally hate when my car wiggles awkwardly

Great car inside and out, btw the owner of this car is one of the co-owners of ONEighty in Brooklyn they do great work.

Way too overpriced for what you get. Plus it's almost as big as a 5 series. Let's see what the coupes bring to the table. Is that in Yonkers? If so, I think I've been exactly where your friend lit up LOL

Its an ELECTRONIC LSD, not to be confused with a mechanical lsd.

Electronic systems: brake-based

These systems are alternatives to a traditional limited-slip differential. The systems harness various chassis sensors such as speed sensors, anti-lock braking system (ABS) sensors, accelerometers, and microcomputers to electronically monitor wheel slip and vehicle motion. When the chassis control system determines a wheel is slipping the computer applies the brakes to that wheel. A significant difference between the limited-slip differential systems listed above and this brake based system is the brake based systems do not inherently send the greater torque to the slower wheel.

BMW's electronic limited-slip differential used on the 2012 535i is an example of such a system.

Take your downpayment for an f30 and get an LSD and RB Turbos = awesome car. Factor in $5k for immediate depreciation for driving the new car off the lot = bbk.

Yea this is under a train station on a public road, not that dangerous since speeds reached maybe 30mph at max . Also not sure if you guys agree if this is a real LSD or not, but all I know is my e90 335i won't make those tire marks.

You probably have an automatic and don't know how to launch your car. Considering this is Brooklyn this is definitely the case. I can do it in my car no problem. And it has a E-LSD.

Edit: Yes you have an automatic

I'd rather spend a grand on true LSD than have the gimmicky e-LSD.

The electric steering isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be, I drove an F30 335i and in sport+ mode the steering feel is basically the same as my e92 with active steering. In comfort mode it sucks though.

Mmm... I test drove my friends f30 335 through the mountains. The feel of the car is just not there compared to my old e90 in my opinion. So when I purchased I went e92 just for the steering feel and looks.

I'm not feeling the electric steering. The f30 to me feels way to light. However, the f30 does a better job absorbing the lovely potholes, and horrible roads here in N.Y city. However, I much prefer the tight, stiff, and heavy feel of my E90.

A grand? In what universe? Once it's all said and done it'll set you back double that, plus more.

Maybe, but he downplayed the price of actually using the LSD. It's one thing to have an LSD sitting on my desk, it's another for it to be in the car being used.

a lot of comments here and all over the place about steering for the f30, probably the main reason i am considering staying with e90. Steering feel / control is probably the most important thing i look for in a car.

Personally, i think the base f30 is a bad looking car, but the m-sport is ok, the e90 / e92 LCI look much better in my opinion. Maybe i will get the same car just with a better sound system and pay to have an LSD on it since i simply cannot live with the base system in this car for any longer.
