Have two cars race, one with a passenger, one without, then switch after the first race. The results would be very different from the first time.

Try holding 200 lbs in weight. It's a lot man.

200 Lbs might be .1 to .2 of a second across an entire 1/4 mile. Not that significant. Moving a passenger from one car to another is more like 400 LBs difference. You are removing a 200 Lb weight from one car and adding it to the other. That will certainly make more of a difference. The weight between a C5 Z06 and a 335XI (700 LBs) is significant. The weight between a 335XI and 335I not so much.

The weight is close enough that a full tank of gas, NAV, runflats, wheel size, auto vs manual, etc. could make them the same.

Probably the fastest N/A 3.7 would have trouble keeping up with your average tuned 335. Not taking anything away from the 3.7. 13.2 is a kick ass time for a N/A 6 cylinder.
Meh the control arm bushings still stuck ass at that output so there's still a little bit of non-retard required (i.e. hop). It almost seems tragic that the V6 Mustang is as relatively quick as it is, but it will always still be a V6 Mustang.

But yeah 335s shouldn't have problems with them like OP did IMO unless something else is going on. A couple hundred pounds difference can't be the only answer.

I didn't know they had IRS. The V6 stang now has the power of the old V8s. However, I don't think they sound nearly as good.

Ok buddy. Tell that to all the car manufacturers that spend millions of dollars finding ways to take a lb off here and there, maybe going as far as to taking a few grams off in certain areas. Tell all the drag racers to keep their a/c system and interior in their cars cause .2 seconds off the 1/4 mile is really not a big deal apparently.

Id really like to see a rwd 335i race an xi to see the difference.

OP you need e85 or meth or both and you will destroy him and most other cars .Get a meth kit map3 or run 255lpfp inline with 6 gallons of e85 map5 and watch cars get smaller and smaller in rearview.

Get a clue. We aren't driving a F1 Mclaren or a drag car for that matter. .2 seconds is not a big deal for a luxury vehicle and car manufactures aren't busting their balls to make a luxury car grams lighter. Lmao

AWD becomes even more important as you increase HP through modifications. The 0-60 gap only gets bigger.

FYI - I've seen them race many times.

They don't have IRS, they've got a three link, live axle and the UCA bushings have stupid play. The LCAs and their bushings are also crap but aren't nearly as much of a burden as the UCA. Hop is comical on the GTs until at least the UCA is replaced, and the V6 is also affected although to a somewhat lesser extent.

I feel your pain as I have a Cobra. They suffer severe wheel hop at times with the IRS. You can break a half shaft if you stay on the go pedal during wheel hop.

Thank you very much for all your help. i think i found the cause. Currently i have kw variant 3 coilover, and the wheel spacer 15mm front and 18mm rear. The wheel after coilover flush out a little bit.
Do you think the wheel spacer setup is too much for the XI ? and the flush of coilover reduce the traction ?
