More JB3 cyn runs vs Lotus

Even though they are rated at 4.6sec 0-60, I know a tuned 335i will walk a Lotus in a drag race. I met up with a Lotus group to run the canyons today. I figured they would outrun me through the corners (1.00g+ lateral g), but I would catch them on the straights. And uphill would be the only chance I would have. Too bad I got stuck behind the slower traffic, I would have loved to have seen how fast the Caterham and Ariel Atom were running. The JB3 335i did more than respectable as you can see in the video footage:

The JB3 worked flawlessly in at least 30 miles of hard canyon driving.

My bro has a Lotus Elise w/ Nitrous and I can walk him in the straights, although he's definitely got me in the turns.

btw - what was that black fugly car in front of you at the beginning (1st video)?

It just said Cosworth on the trunk lid. I have never seen one before. Maybe its some kind of Rally car. He was definitely blocking me on half the canyon runs, and he wouldn't move over for me to pass. I was kind of upset, cause I wanted to get some good video footage of the other cars.

If it was a Ford Cosworth GT, I think those things do 0-60 in like 3.7 seconds.

It may be fast, but it's still ugly as fuk!

I guess the guy was being conservative, since he was going slow and wouldn't allow hotrod to pass.

i took my Jb3 to the tail of dragon and it did flawless through 10-12 runs

Did some more runs with the Lotus Group today. The 335i definitely held its own, even in the sharp corners.

After that, a couple of us went to MB2 kart racing. What a blast that is. Going three wide into sharp corners, and not letting off. Someone usually ends up in the wall. Out of 10 in our race group, I got 2nd place. Not bad for my 2nd run there. They give you a print out ranking you by your best lap time, average over the 14 laps, and per lap time. They are electric, and don't have the best acceleration, but they corner pretty good, and the course is so tight, it does take some driving skill, and is still loads of fun.

Ran good today, no problem reeling in the Lotus. Some mean looking Ferrari came hauling up behind me. Surprised the heck out of him when I just floored it and took off, he had his hands full trying to keep up with me.

No - not 35, I drive up there all the time as I live at the top of 84/35. 35 would be MUCH faster. If I wasnt such a law abiding citizen I would think you could reach 100mph on a regular basis!!.

I didn't go to that, but some of these guys were definitely from there. I was actually on my way to the alternative car expo in Santa Monica, featuring electric vehicles. Turned out it was only a Fri/Sat event.

(was quick in the mid 90's) ~7.5sec. 0-63
