I wonder how BMW performance suspension would pair with HR springs.

The Performance Dampers are pretty stiff, and I believe they would work nice together. This is if we are talking about the sport and not the race. I think that the race would be too much.

I look forward to hearing how they work with the H&R Sports.

How much does the H&R sport springs lower the car compared to stock sport springs?
In fact I wonder how much the stock sport springs lower the car compared to stock non-sport springs...

The Sticky says that the OEM sport lowers the car .6" over non sport.

The BMW Performance Package is perhaps one of the best upgrades that I have purchased for car in many years. You WILL feel the difference and be surprised that it is not bumpy like might be perceived. The car feels like it is riding on rails at any speed. Benefit: Warranty and BMW calibrates the parts specifically for the E90 frame. -puma |

Mr5.
Been debating dinan stage 1 suspension (basically koni yellow and some spring), BBS RS GT, Mich PS2, and Dinan Stage 2 software. But reading this post makes me re-think the Stage 1 suspension. Based on your track times, looks like you've got someone's software. Did you run the software without the suspension and wheels? If so, did the ZSP handle the extra power OK? Or did you do all the mods together? My goals are basically the same as yours - same ride height, track and groceries, etc.

Before reading, I was ready to buy KW Street comforts. Adjustable height and dampening with a focus on comfort. My intent is to lower about 1/2 inch, get the fender bottoms just above the top of the tires. How would I select springs if I went with BMW Performance Suspension?

If your priority is all-around performance at a great price the BMW perf dampers & springs & rear sway are an excellent choice. If appearance is a priority I can't help.

For tire - fender gaps it would be useful if we compiled a set of photos with measurements (ruler in the pic) for all of the major options.

thanks for the write up on the suspension. i was thinking about getting this before i read it, and now i really want it!
my question is this now the same suspension on the US E90 M3?? does euro M3 use a diff set up then US? i didnt find anyone touch on this since this "M-Sport" set up became available. In short, what is the difference between the M3 and Performance suspension?? |

The spring rates are different, the dampers are different and have a totally different mounting style.

There are specialty spring manufacturers that make outstanding products, much better than the usual aftermarket or OEM stuff, but you need to know what you are doing in terms of matching spring rates and dampers and suspension travel and ... It's complicated engineering.

Would be nice if BMW had this available for coupes as well. May have to consider this upgrade after 20-30k miles (if & when available for E92's of course).
