Eisenmann performance question
Hi guys..
So the other day, I put an OEM ZHP muffler on my friends NON-ZHP 2001 330ci. The ZHP (or "performance packace) muffler does NOT have an exhaust flap at the very rear, like most other BMWs. When I replaced his existing exhaust with this more "free flowing" version..... The car lost a LOT of torque feel off the line... I mean MASSIVE drop. There's no WAY the tires are ever going to break loose on this now. Gained a little power over stock above 4000 rpm. (these are FEEL based, NO DYNO.) Car has a deeper, slightly louder exhaust note, but not very aggressive, sort of just a hum. To ME, this proves that the exhaust flap is designed to improve low end torque. This being the case.... What have you all felt when installing the flap-less Eisenmann mufflers? I'm VERY interested in knowing right away, as I intended to obtain an Eisenmann pretty soon, but may be changing my mind.
