Definitely not easily... The m5 jumped a little because he was behind at the line up, so he did have A LITTLE momentum. I think if my 5th held up i'd cross the line first, but by a hair, maybe by half a car...

Sorry, but that doesn't add up with what we've seen with RB cars trap speeds and the average F10 trap speeds. Have you ever had your car on the dyno? How do your logs look? You should've pulled gim comfortably.

Even more strange is the gallardo vs the NA M5...where they were basically dead even when the new M5 walked away from the NA one.

I raced both, and walked away from both equally. I expected the e60 m5 and the gallardo to be a nail biter...

I know Sicks car will trap at least 125mph. It did over 123mph with me in it, and not even running perfectly. I doubt stock M5s will touch 125mph on a level run. But its simple enough to grab a Vbox, find a level road and see what the 1/4 traps are and the 60-130 times are on the same run.

Terry's car was doing back to back 130mph runs on the same level test area, and Erics car should be right around 130mph too. 10 second capable cars. Just look at how well the E63 did against this M5, the GT, and Gallardo, etc.

Not handling the amount of torque in 5th gear is our assumption... Needs more R & D

Just so you guys dont have any doubts, here's the log from this run. It's clean and on target, right up until 5th gear where the car dies.

1/4 mile traps have nothing to do with a half mile rolling run. Some cars like the old V10 M5/M6 run decent traps but on a roll up top them punch way above their 1/4 mile trap should. New M5 as well, is not suited to 1/4 mile but runs crazy on the highway.

Yeah it looked like a good clean start and you both had traction but Nick started a hair earlier that you Sick. We all know how fast your car is so that just shows how fast those F10 M5s are.

Looking at the video i may have jumped a bit trying to line up, but we both connected clean.

During the run with serge i was like HOLY CRAP.. i think he's going to catch me!! and started slapping the steering wheel hoping that would unlock some extra HP

Hahahahahaha ))) I actually think i might have been a nose ahead before i had to shut down Nick Either way, re-match is definitely in order here, and i'm looking forward to it very much. Maybe we'll do it one of these weekends on a "closed course"

PS. I want to see the inside video of the wheel slapping LOL

5th gear issues aside, you got to be pleased with your weekend overall. Running the M5 that close is very impressive. Get the 5th gear issue resolved, would love to see a rematch.

Oh absolutely. I got to run a lot of strong 500+ hp cars, and did very well against them. With tuning comes certain expectation that things will go wrong. It's disappointing, but part of the game. At least i didn't fly off track, or blow my motor like some of the cars out there...

Only just bought my 335i and didnt plan on doing anything to it. Couple of weeks later, JB4 and DCI bought. I can see how it gets addictive.
