This. Ambient temps have big effect. Mine also stays around the same after a 10-15 minute drive in -17C weather.

Has anyone figured out why Carly shows 8919.0 C? Mine always shows this number too. I know someone mentioned that motor and oil temp should be similar, but does anyone know which parameter really shows the temp to determine if the thermostat is operating correctly? Sometimes I hate Carly...

Just use Torque and get DWR's PIDs

Mine was showing 80-81 the other day after a long highway run. Was thinking of replacing the thermostat but after reading this I might hold off and see if it rises with these temps we've had the past few days.

I don't monitor my temps all the time, but when it was -25°C here my temps wouldn't go over 70°C on the highway. I replaced my T-stat last summer

FYI, I have Carly and was getting the 1800+ reading.
I did an app update, then in settings did "test adaptor". And it did an update to the adaptor. After that it seemed to work correctly. basically it seems to flash update the adaptor.

I have reduced power and MPG. My SES is on and Indy shop said its the Glow Plug Module. In reading these posts ppl suggested it may be a bad thermo at the root of the problem, but mine seems to be working within specs. Stayed in the high 80 to mid 90 range under some full throttle driving, then when on my 25mph 2 mile run through my n'hood, it jumped up to high 90's and when I parked it, the fan was in which was consistent with specs stated here of around 96 for fan to kick on.

I guess GPM likely is needed. Also looking to get a walnut blast to clean out any CBU issues.

Appreciate the info. Sounds like mine might be working just fine then.

I should have mentioned I am fully deleted, including the EGR cooler delete and coolant bypass. I'm assuming my car would run quite a bit cooler than a non-deleted car.

I'm fully deleted as well but EGR is still in place as is the cooler.

Nope. Should still run same temp once warmed up. Approximately 188.6f

By running cooler, I was referencing potential for heat generation.
They should both get up to the same temperature, then the T-stat opens to cool it off. However, since I don't have a DPF or EGR, and the EGR isn't heating the coolant, my potential for heat generation would be lower, no?
IE: hitting the point of T-stat opening, or not hitting it at all...

The EGR isn't heating up the coolant that much. EGR or not, engine temps should be the same.
