Ouch, and this is why I try to stay with my car as much as possible when its due in for servicing. Even that didn't help, once I took a new VW GTI in and when the technician returned to hand the car back, complete drivers side was scratched/keyed. I hope the M5 owner gets justice soon, best of luck to them!

Few weeks ago took a brand new Range Rover to LR dealer in Moscow due to some creaking and windscreen seal coming off whilst driving on the motorway. They asked me I'd removed the subwoofer bolt and trimmed the seal thickness to make it bit. Go figure!

I'd be doing my nut if that was my M5.

I don't care what anyone says but it just would not be the same after an impact like that even if it was all repaired etc. It just wouldn't "feel" the same to me.

I'd seriously be asking them to replace my car with on of equivalent spec and value that hasn't been in an accident! There's little doubt in my mind that most insurers would just write that off. The car is utterly borked. That entire front end is knackered and there's all sorts of damage to the suspension probably the chassis/fixing points too.

I'd be taking the dealership to task over it in a big way.

EDIT:

I too hate leaving my car at the dealers. You just don't know what they'll do to it. Didn't some chap here have his fall off a ramp/crashed recently inside the workshop??

I also don't like the idea of someone else driving my car without me present....

Got to be your worst nightmare. I always try to do 'while you wait' but that isn't fool proof either!

I'd be on fire, and probably burn the whole dealership down, if it was my car...
