Stone chip on bonnet - will this rust and what do I do?
I noticed these chips on my bonnet the other day whilst washing my E90:
At first I thought it was a bug or some tar, but rubbing it hard didn't make it come off. Then when it was dry I realised that there was no paint on those bits any more. It's down to a black coat of paint I think (the colour of my car is Sparkling Graphite) - because it hasn't penetrated this black coat of primer will it not rust? How do I repair this? Every time i've used touch up paint on my other cars it looks a mess with a big glob of raised paint where i've done my handywork. |

I have something similar on my Titanium Silver. Mine is also down to the black and its very noticable and drives me crazy. Im worried about touch up paint as well. Any ideas?

Thats not what I wanted to hear. The car is only 2 months old and I have chips galore. Ive never seen anything like this on any other car ive owned. Fortunately I only have one chip like those pictured above, but its frustrating.

Well if it needs attention then I am going to give ChipsAway a try. I saw an article in BMWcar magazine on them once and they seemed to come off quite well. I'll let you know how it goes.
