08 335xi Sedan on Koni Sport/H&R Springs

Here's my 08 335xi Sedan on Koni Yellow Sports with H&R Sport springs. Stock 17" wheels.

It's tucked in the rear. Fronts have a finger or so. They cut the bump stops when they installed it all. It rides great but I wish the rear was up a little bit as I'd like to put some 18" CSL style wheels on but I'm worried they'll look ridiculous.

Any input or ideas on wheels and possible solution to the ultra low drop in the rear would be appreciated. I've thought about using different springs in the rear... perhaps Eibach?

Haha. Yeah... that was a Hooked on Driving event at Sears Point. Epic cars there. Bay Area McClaren fleet. Ferrari's, the place was oozing with money. Highly recommend Hooked on DRiving. Amazing time!

Shoulda done your homework before picking springs. H&R keeps the stock raked look so the rear is a little lower than the front. Eibachs tend to keep the drop a little more even front to back.

Doesn't look bad at all though. Just looks a little raked. Get the 18s and I bet you'll forget all about it.

Thanks bro! I did do quite a bit. I won't name the vendor but it is a popular one on here who stressed that the H&R would be a perfect setup with the konis I purchased from them. Not really disappointed just surprised at how low the rear ended up.

I looked again today and I think you're right...18's will be fine and I can add my favorite style wheels and I will be happy for sure.

The setup was rock solid at my track day and I was thrilled at how hard I could throw my car through the turns. Way more controlled at high speed and I certainly got rid of the xi gap!

Any thoughts on putting eibach on the rear to lift it up a bit??

I also have H&R springs and the rear sits low. I wish they sat a half inch higher in the back and half inch lower in the front, I'm serious thinking about getting some V1s.

Glad I'm not alone. Thought I was being smart and did a good bit of research.

I too will likely go with KW.

How much camber are you running? I'm at -2.5 in the rear! Great for the track but not my tires every day.

What size &style wheels are you running?

I bought my e92 with the h&r setup with stock struts, not sure what the previous owner was thinking... I hate the bounciness when I'm going over bumps.

It does handle okay around corners but nothing compared to my Evo 8 (previous car).

I'm running Vertini Magics 19x9/19x9.5 with 235/35 and 265/30. Ill post up some pics when I get home later.

Right on..would love to see pics especially with 19's.

I have the Koni yellow sports so it rides great. I can adjust the fronts easily as well.

Looking forward to seeing your ride!

There's definitely a minor rake. The rear wheel is a tucked so if I was able to raise about half an inch, it would enable me to put in some spacers (maybe 15 mm). Same with the front, if it was half inch or even quarter inch lower it would look much better.

Yes the rears are rolled, I will have to check the tire size again. Will report back later.

I believe I'm still on stock struts, I haven't had a chance to look since I've bought the car a couple months ago and the rainy weather here in the NW doesn't help.

The exhaust is the Remus Race, axle back.

Nice! Looks great, bro. Thanks for posting pics. I think 18's will work well. Hopefully I can run squared and no have to roll the fenders.

I think people can run 19's without rolling the fender. I think the previous owner was trying to run 275s and was rubbing when he had people in the car. I know the rears are 265s now and no issues at all.

Very nice. I'm stoked bow to find my new wheels. Did you get those wheels yourself or were they on the car?

They were on the car already which also came with JB4/DCI/exhaust and the CF hood/trunk. I pretty haven't done anything new to the car yet other then converting to JB4 ISO. I'm planning on FMIC and DPs to finish off the power mods, re-doing the suspension and possibly wrap the car in matte white.

Sweet. Did up buy from another forum member? Those are nice mods to have in the car before you even start modding! I put in an AMS fmic. Did it myself. It was a slight bitch of a job. I love it though if I were to do it over again knowing what I know now I likely would have gone with the 5" ETS since there is no cutting. I spent a lot of time grinding and cutting and the rubber elbows were a bitch to fit laying on your back with a 20 lb piece if metal above your head. I was sore for days after that job.

I put out some feelers on wheel/tire combos. Excited to get new shoes on the car for sure. .
Cheers!

Yea, it was kinda funny how it worked out... I was at a dealership initially looking at a 2010 stock e92 335i but they wanted way too much for what it was. On the way out, I saw my current car and the salesman said they just got it in on trade. After a test drive and some negotiating, I got it at the price I wanted + trade in on my evo. They even gave me the stock hood/trunk and rims on top of what was currently on the car so I pulled the trigger. Funny, this was the second 335 I ever test drove and walked away with it.

I sometime miss the shear power/handling of the Evo but the refinement of our 3's was a great trade off.

That is awesome! Wish mine had come with some of the mods already on it. What kills me is not knowing the full history. It is
exrtremely clean and i'm pretty sure it was a one-owner who traded it in once it went out of warranty.

Walnut blasting coming soon for sure.

Thanks for the pics.

Love those Evo's. Was it faster straight line than your 335??
