Switched from Dinan S2 to Cobb, dyno inside!

Bought my car with Dinan S2 software pre-loaded.

Did a baseline in the fall:

Max power was 323.65, max torque was 323.21.

Switched to Cobb, stock throttle aggressive map, and also installed an Injen intake.

Here were the results:

Max power was 355.80, max torque on that run was 371.17.

So an increase of 32.15 horse power, and 47.96 ft lbs. Not too shabby!

Also had roughly 2 gallons of E85 in the tank to smooth out any timing pull.

Can anyone shed some light why after 6k power gets real jumpy / sketchy?

I'll post logs after I get my AP out of the car. I'm guessing due to charge air temps...

Dinan is overrated, you were probably suffering from heat soak of the intercooler.

Intake & tune only? Nice numbers
-I remember putting down 324whp & 358wtrq, but my baseline was much lower at 278whp & 283wtrq.

I had a Stett Cai & JB4 Map1.

I've always wondered what kind of power I could extract by switching.....
hmmmmm

Keep in mind my baseline was with dinan s2. I'm sure stock would be much lower.

Good numbers. and yes probably heat soak.

If you want to make more power (safely), put an intercooler and load higher power maps.

let me know if you need advice

Ignorance is bliss. I was actually at the track a few weeks ago with a couple of friends. Between the three of us we all run different tunes. I run a PROcede and the other two run COBB and JB4. All of us run meth and about 50% ethanol & 92 oct. At the end of the night, the guy running the COBB pulled his tune and installed it on the car with the JB4 and the guy went out with a base aggressive map and ran the same time without meth as he was running with on his JB4. He actually switched to COBB and hasn't looked back...

So if that tells you anything, dump the JB4 because I think you'll find your numbers aren't as good as you think they are.

Funny thing, he's actually the second person I know in the past couple of months to switch from JB. One went with PROcede and the other COBB. Don't know anyone who has switched from COBB or PROcede to JB... But if they did Ron White said it best, you can't fix stupid.

COBB JB4

Get the car protuned and really take advantage of the cobb. You still have more power available simply from getting the car protuned

You may have higher peak numbers with COBB, but it looks like Dinan is better. Holds more torque and the power doesn't drop-off as quick.

Dinan is a good tune but anyone who pays $2000 for a tune you can't modify or log needs to have their head examined. In the long run, the COBB will out perform the Dinan tune because you can tweak parameters like fueling, timing, and boost that you have no control over with all other flash tunes. So before you pass judgement you really need to know and understand the facts before you open up with making comments...

You're not reading the graphs correctly. Dinan only revved to 6.5, Cobb went to 7k. Compare rpm to rpm.
