Of course he raced the Vette. There's a video of it from Shiv's GoPro. And he stayed right with Shiv but was slow in his shifts and would drop back. My guess is that he didn't want to spin the tires and get sideways. And yes Shiv "beat" the Vette as well.

At these HP level and in the conditions at the airstrip, a lot of car prep and driver skill was involved. Don't think for a second that the Vette driver didn't try to win.

A NA FBO c5 z06 is no slouch either.

The c6 z06 is in another league modded or stock.

Well I'll just call it a fluke as I'm not going to be one to call you a liar. Odds are that any day our cars go up against a ZO6 we will lose. This guy could be a bad driver, have a shit tune or maybe other malfunctions, still sounds like a fun race. Also, there is a very sad and confused ZO6 owner somewhere right now. Lol

Don't think for a second that a 550whp ~335i will beat a ~900whp Z06 in anything but a VERY narrow set of circumstances(shitty road, a driver unwilling/unsure how to to push the car.)

If you honestly think shiv's "victory" over that corvette could be repeated with a similar car under any other circumstance then you should probably step back and see what times(not just 60-130, but they can actually make it down the strip respectably) FI LS engine are turning. They are sickeningly quick cars. They can easily turn mid to low 5 second 60-130 times. The last time I was really following/involved with LS stuff the record for a 6MT car was like 4.2 seconds.

Look, of course the Vette is a much faster car. It has much more power and is lighter. The driver of the Vette WAS TRYING. Obviously he's not a good driver. When dealing with cars with this much HP, there's a lot more to it than just flooring it like there is with your car.

We were on the same page. And while I don't believe that the OP ran a Procharged Vette, I have seen quite a few supercharged Vette's loose to lower power/higher weight cars. Grip/driver skill are the deciding factors when dealing with 1,000+ HP cars.

How does it have 490 whp from the factory? The 5th gen Camaro motor options are:
  • 320 HP V6
  • 435 HP V8 (SS)
  • 580 HP S/C V8 (ZL1)

I'm going with a wild guess and say they modified it?

Little misleading w/ "factory motor" then . I understand that factory motor just means that none of the internals have been upgraded, so headers, exhaust, intake etc could have been done to give that 60 HP gain.

Did you actually see the Procharger or at lest really hear it at an idle. My money is on that the kid never had a Procharger. Just some punk kid saying he does and doesn't know what he is talking about. It was probably just a stock Z06.

My bad. I meant factory motor as in original block, original lower end, original heads, not bored out or stroked out.... It's a 2010 with a large cam, intake, exhaust and tune. Making 490whp. That doesnt include his 150 shot.

i know how fast a Z06 is and what a Z06 looks like, my best guess would be that this guy was deff lieing about his pro charger, and was a horrible driver. but we were even.. wish i had a video.
