Snap in adaptor for Samsung Galaxy S3?
Can anybody help, I have the bluetooth setup in my car and need an adaptor to fit the Galaxy S3 in the armrest, does anybody know if there is any compatible adaptor that will fit as BMW don't show it on there website?
Thanks in advance for any help. |

Not as far as I'm aware, if you're not an iPhone aficionado you're pretty much out in the cold as far as BMW are concerned, I use a Brodit mount on the dash to the right of the steering wheel.

They seem to support some of the older Nokias, BBs and Sony Ericssons but yes, unless you have an iPhone you're pretty much stuffed. I guess they'd be forever developing adapters if they tried to follow Samsung, HTC etc. Can't blame them really.
I've just chopped in my 4S for a Galaxy Nexus because I fancied a change from iOS and really the adapter is what I miss. That said the Nexus is pretty snug just in the dummy holder and I can charge with a short USB. I could just use Blu-Tack for the full on Android experience |

this is why im switching from a samsing galaxy S2 to an iphone 4S. I've had the samsung for a year, and now bored with it. fancy a change, and my car has the snap in adapter for the iphone.
Means neat charging, without trailing cables, and potentially better reception through the cars aerial. |

I use an SGS3 in an Brodit Active mount to the right of the steering column - it looks OK, charges the phone & has the advantage of being easily accessible if I receive an email etc and I've never had any problems with reception, but I would use an armrest mount if someone decides to make one.
I'm sure something like the brodit mount could be adapted for the armrest if it's possible to get an adaptor lead from the armrest connector to a micro USB lead |

its the only reason why i had a blackberry
they ought to develop a sim card slot in the fascia that is then controlled via steering wheel mounted buttons and the i drive |

some companies do.. porsche until recently had a sim card slot on the dash. And the old vauxhall omegas used to have a sim card slot next to the head unit, making the car a 1.8ton telephone

I don't see the point of the cradles tbh, get a charger for £3 off ebay. I replaced the dummy cradle with a pocket and the phone will happily sit there. Wouldn't dream of buying an overrated iphone never mind an adapter for it.

The S3 is about 8 feet wide! Too big for a snap in. The iPhone only just fits.

I must admit it does feel very big at first but now it's fine, but everything else seems tiny. I can't imagine going back to using the old HTC Desire
