A muffler delete doesn't reduce torque, that's pretty BS in my opinion. That would mean many of the high end aftermarket exhausts without a muffler would reduce performance. Taking off the muffler theoretically should increase performance by removing back pressure, but still shouldn't really make a difference in terms of performance.
How does your setup sound with just a res delete?

With only a resonator delete the sound is great on start up and high revs. Its basically loud when u want it to and not when driving normally. But a muffler delete will definately make it much louder but thats not what i was looking for. The resonator delete is just perfect IMO

This would be true on a forced induction engine, but NA requires some back pressure for low end torque. Removing the restriction will improve exhaust gas flow higher up in the revs though, which is why people are experiencing better pull once the car gets going.

forgot to say that I did back out of it. Anyone in the 90505 with a muffler delete preferably 328i that I can check it out?
When I first got this done I thought it was way to load and droned like mad but it's amazing what a few weeks driving can do ! I would swear the car is quieter now but it's obviously just psychological.
I got muffler delete done in my golf Gti which did not make as big a difference as it does on the e90, result I ended up thinking it was too quiet !
My exhaust guy made a good point that with these kind of mods to exhausts people will either think little too loud or little to quiet and having being on both sides of this I totally understand this.

Got it done. I love it. Perfect to me as far as the loudness.

So I went and did the muffler delete today, and to tell u the truth it seemed very underwhelming, sounded nothing like all the sound clip videos I watch :-(.. I don't know if it's because I have an n51 maybe they had Na extra resonator? I'm Def thinking about getting the resonator deleted next tho

Thinking about doing this too. Does this effect gas mileage?

I've been toying with this idea because I don't want the car to be "too" loud. I want it to have a deeper tone under load though.
I'm interested in this too. Anyone got some experience with this?

Yeah, they're worth it. I have lots of other vids on my youtube channel Markanthony32102009 or Markanthony3210@gmail.com which ever brings up my channel. As for your question, I'll mount it today on the rear for you guys.

Has anyone done a muffler delete and then decided to also remove the resonator? Is it me, or does the car pop more without the resonator?

Also, have there been any problems with the car that have had them for a longer period of time?

Lots of videos out there, but can someone show me one, that has only a muffler delete vs muffler+resonator delete?

I did the muffler delete and kept the resonator. Ran 2 tanks. I think I'm losing mileage. Anyone else experience this?

I'm thinking of deleting the rest and going to a magnaflow 11148

Hey everyone! I finally got a video of my car. The exhaust setup is as follows: 3" catless downpipes, 2nd cat delete (replaced with vibrant resonator 1792), and muffler delete. I ran just the muffler delete for a while, and I really don't understand the whole "drone" issue. Sure, it's there a little, but if you like to hear your car it's great. Do note, I am 17, so I inherently love loud things and making a ton of noise. Cruising at highway speeds even with my current exhaust setup (resonated straight pipe) is very bearable. My father is totally fine with it, and there is a sweet spot of rpm you can stay in and be just fine. With music on, you barely even notice the exhaust. when you step on it, it sounds like all hell is breaking loose. The burbles when slowing down are incredibly fun. I'll let the video speak for itself, enjoy!

Reviving an old but great thread, I plan on doing this next week. Shop quoted just 65$ for labor, Just wondering what parts I should order. I know what tips I want, just not sure what to order because I have no knowledge in this. Also, how should I explain this to the guy at the shop? He didnt seem confused when i said i want my muffler deleted, but I always like to clarify things
